Catalin joined Bella after earning her Master’s in Economics from Boston University, where she focused on courses in Industrial Organization, Development Economics, and Behavioral Economics. During her time at BU, she engaged in research examining the effects of gender quotas on Mexican local elections.

Before her Master’s, Catalin completed her undergraduate studies in the dual degree program between Sciences Po and UC Berkeley. She spent two years studying Politics and Government at the Reims campus of Sciences Po Paris in France before transitioning to Economics at UC Berkeley. There, she contributed to research analyzing the economic successes and failures of several post-socialist East German cities, leveraging her native German fluency and family connections to the region.

Catalin’s passion for Economics stems from her desire to understand the world, a curiosity that initially drew her to political science right after high school. Over time, she developed a deep appreciation for the rigorous analytical and quantitative skills the Economics discipline offers, which she aims to apply in the private equity sector at Bella.

A dual citizen of Germany and the United States, Catalin grew up in Berlin and Illinois. In her free time, she enjoys exploring new countries and cultures, skiing and hiking the mountains of New England, and hunting for authentic German bread and pastries in Boston.
