We provided strategic guidance to a client to coordinate the delivery of value-added services in the broader venture ecosystem. By distilling best practices from VCs, angel groups, and other early-stage investors known for the quality of their value-added services, we created a detailed research report and conducted multiple workshops with key stakeholders to develop a series of actionable recommendations for developing best-in-class value-added services programs.

We assessed the impact on portfolio companies of ownership by a large US PE firm by quantifying changes in employment, wages, workplace safety, and innovation using custom-built measurement frameworks informed by academic best practices. The results of these analyses were presented by the firm to investors in several of its annual group meetings.

We quantified the risk of a multi-tranche securitized private equity offering using a custom-built Monte Carlo-style simulation analysis. The results of this independent risk analysis were incorporated into the offering prospectus to help educate potential investors.

We produced a comprehensive guide to current thinking and best practices in private equity investing for a large institutional investor. The research touched on various topics such as return premiums, risk assessment, and performance persistence.

We organized and conducted a series of masterclasses in private equity for regional investors sponsored by a major global fund manager. We presented findings from new academic research, and provided an in-depth analysis of current industry trends. These lectures were supplemented by interactive class discussions, allowing attendees to derive valuable insights from the program.

We worked with an industry group to structure a public-private investment fund to encourage the development of an entrepreneurial ecosystem. Based on extensive on-the-ground and secondary research, our recommendations balanced the program’s need for financial sustainability with the goal of activating significant risk capital for early-stage ventures.
