Sarah Valentiner

Analyst

Sarah joined Bella Private Markets after graduating from Wesleyan University with a major in Economics. At Wesleyan, she pursued a diverse curriculum spanning economics, data science, government, and urban studies. Her honors thesis examined the federal Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program and its net impact on housing supply in the Boston Metropolitan Statistical Area. In her work, she employed a modern synthetic difference-in-differences (SDiD) methodology and, from it, was able to provide greater insight into housing market behavior in supply constrained urban environments.

Prior to joining Bella, Sarah interned with the Affordable Housing Institute, a global housing finance consultancy also based in Boston. There, she did much of the preliminary research for her thesis, as well as developed a literature primer on the tenant and neighborhood outcomes of mixed-income affordable housing via place- and tenant-based initiatives.

In her free time, Sarah enjoys learning languages, baking, and heading out for brisk evening walks.
